Also called « Yarn Bombing », this artistic movement was born in the USA in 2005.
The idea is to knit monuments, street lamps and benches, trees etc.
This summer, a number of milk urns invaded the area surrounding the chapel of Notre Dame de La Gorge. The coming winter will be woollen squares!
Wool at the heart of a project
Pascale Chollet, English teacher and project initiator, offered to dress the resort in wool !
In winter we all wear warm clothes so why not dress the village too?
Wool is considered a noble material, warm and generous, offering a link between the past and more modern times well suited to the ski resort and authentic village of Les Contamines.
La laine est une matière noble, chaude et généreuse qui allie ancien et modernité qui s'allie très bien avec les Contamines et son village authentique.
