In Samivel's footsteps
Water-colour artist, poet, novelist, filmmaker and explorer, Samivel profoundly influenced the alpine world.
He used his multiple talents to serve and protect nature in general and particularly the mountains.
Samivel visited Les Contamines from a very early age and remained attached to the village and its residents throughout his life.
We invite you to come and discover his most beautiful watercolors. Some are famous around the world and others are unknown to the public.
Located behind the village church this open air museum exhibits his works amidst the natural surroundings.
Feel free to walk in Samivel’s footsteps. Come and enjoy a moment of culture, reflection or meditation and appreciate the combination of art and nature.
